Bounty Hunter Arrested in ’03 Case Sign In to E-Mail This Print Reprints Save By DAVID CARR Published: September 15, 2006 Duane Chapman, a bounty hunter and the star of a reality television series, was arrested by federal marshals yesterday morning on charges stemming from a capture three years ago in Mexico.
Skip to next paragraph Lucy Pemoni/Associated Press Duane Chapman, “Dog the Bounty Hunter” in Hawaii in January. Mr. Chapman captured Andrew Luster, the Max Factor heir who was convicted of raping three women.
Mr. Chapman, 53, was arrested at his house in Hawaii along with his son Leland Chapman, 29, and Timothy Chapman, 41, no relation.
The charges have been pending since they were arrested in Mexico after the capture.
In a twist that will not be lost on fans of Mr. Chapman’s program, “Dog the Bounty Hunter,” on the A&E cable network, Mexico is seeking to extradite him for posting bail and then failing to appear to answer criminal charges in July 2003.
He was held at the federal detention center in Honolulu.
His wife, Beth Chapman, also a star in the series, said Mr. Chapman left Mexico on the advice of his lawyers, who feared for his safety in the Mexican prison system.
Mexico is requesting extradition under treaties with the United States that allow one country to remand prisoners to the other.
Bounty hunting is illegal in Mexico, and the authorities there had demanded that Mr. Chapman transfer Mr. Luster to the local authorities, which he refused to do. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ wow this isn't good on his behalf

I need to correct this article a little bit. Timothy Chapman IS in fact, Duane 'Dog' Chapman's brother. I do believe all of that stuff has been taken care of now. They had it on Television about a week ago. Andrew Luster was charged with 87 counts of rape. Convicted on 86 and received 124 years. My Source(Click Here).
